No. 5 Women's Track & Field has strong outing at Mount Union Tune Up

ADA — The No. 5-ranked Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team had a strong outing at the Mount Union Tune Up meet on Saturday afternoon.
No team scores were recorded in the meet.
In the 1-mile run, freshmen Madeleine Routhier (West Unity/Hilltop) and Zoe Schilling (East Sparta/Canton Central Catholic) finished second and third, respectively in 5:34.61 and 5:35.82
In the weight throw, senior Rebecca Olashuk (Defiance/Tinora) took fifth place with a toss of 48' 3.25".
Freshman Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) posted a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a leap of 10' 7.00".
In the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore Sydney McCluer (Columbus Grove) finished fourth overall in :10.02.
Freshman Sarah Menuez (Berlin/Hiland) posted a fourth place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:07.89.
Senior Genevieve Marchese (Beavercreek/Carroll) also posted a top-5 finish for Northern as she took fifth place in the 1,000-meter run in 3:09.47.
In the 5,000-meter run, sophomore Colleen Grainger (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley) finished second in 19:48.61.
"We had a really solid day on the women's side of the meet," said head coach Jason Maus. "We had a lot of personal bests and a lot of really good conference marks."
The team of seniors Meagan Ellinger (Bath, Ind./Union County), Michelle Mosler (Wapakoneta), junior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) and sophomore Taylor Fisher (Wapakoneta) finished fourth overall and set a new school record in the 4x400-meter relay Friday afternoon as they competed in the Ohio State Buckeye Tune Up Meet and ran a school record 3:58.15.
"Its always nice to break a school record," said Maus. "This was a solid race for our 4x400 team. We are certainly in a good spot moving forward but we also have some room to grow. Its nice to perform at a high level and still see room for improvement."
Northern returns to the track Saturday as it hosts the Polar Bear Last Chance Invitational at the ONU Sports Center.
