Track & Field Preview: No. 25 Ohio Northern Women's Track & Filed to compete at the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships

Preview: The no. 25-ranked Ohio Northern Women's Track and Field team is set to compete in the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Wilmington College ... The Polar Bears enter the meet 61-7 overall after winning the Polar Bear Invitational this past weekend ... Northern was led last week by Division III National Athlete of the Week sophomore Emily Richards who set a new school record in the 800-meter run, running the third fastest time in NCAA Division III history in 2:05.54 ... Freshman Maddy Reed also found success a week ago, winning the pole vault with an NCAA qualifying height of 12 feet 6 inches ... She is currently ranked fifth in the nation in the event ... Junior Kelsey Commager set a new school record in the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet 1.75 inches ... During the Indoor Championships, ONU garnered a third place finish with 147.5 points ... Mount Union won the meet with 176.5 points, followed by Otterbein with 148 points ... The Outdoor Championships are scheduled to begin Friday at noon with field events, followed by running events at 4:10 pm ... Saturday events begin at 10 am.
