Reed, Richards earn OAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors

ADA — Freshman Maddy Reed and sophomore Emily Richards swept the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of April 18-24.
Reed was named the OAC Field Athlete of the week, while Richards earned the OAC Track Athlete of the Week honor.
The freshman earns her first Athlete of the Week honor after posting a first place finish in the pole vault this past weekend at the Polar Bear Invitational.
Reed finished the meet with a personal best and NCAA qualifying height of 12 feet 6 inches, ranking her fifth in the nation in the event.
Richards earns her third Athlete of the Week honor for the 2016 outdoor season.
The sophomore competed this past weekend at the Jesse Owens Track Classic where she finished second in the 800-meter run.
She set a new school record, running the third fastest time in NCAA DIII history in 2:05.54, ranking her first in the nation by more then four seconds in the event.
The Polar Bears return to action Friday and Saturday as they compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Wilmington College.
