Eleven named Academic All-OAC in Women's Track & Field in 2014-15

ADA — Eleven student/athletes of the Ohio Northern women's track & field team were named Academic All-OAC.
Senior Catie Huber, senior Julie Puvogel, senior Gabrielle Metzner, senior Raechel Moore, junior Kara Sosinski, junior Sarah Ballmer, junior Margaret Sorg, junior McKenna Earley, sophomore Nicloe Huber, sophomore Rebecca Carman, sophomore Meagan Ellinger, and sophomore Nicole Huber all recieved the honor.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.50.
Catie Huber, a biology major, earns her third consecutive Academic All-OAC accolade.
This season, she won the 1,500-meter run for the second consecutive season at the OAC Outdoor Championships and won the 1-mile at the OAC Indoor Championships.
She is the current record holder for ONU in the 1,500-meter run.
Puvogel, a pharmacy major, finished eighth in the 10,000-meter run at the OAC Outdoor Championships.
This is the second consecutive season she has been named Academic All-OAC.
Metzner qualified for the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships competing in the 60-meter hurdles and earns her second consecutive Academic All-OAC award.
The senior currently holds the ONU indoor school record in the event.
The environment and field biology major was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that won both the OAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
Moore earns her first Academic All-OAC honor.
She is majoring in pharmacy.
Sosinski, a pharmacy major, earns her second consecutive Academic All-OAC honor.
She is a member of the distance team competing in the 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000-meter runs.
Ballmer finished second in pole vault at the OAC Outdoor Championships and sixth at the OAC Indoor Championships this season.
The pharmacy major earns her first Academic All-OAC accolade.
Sorg earns her first Academic All-OAC accolade.
She is majoring in accounting and is a member of the distance team for ONU.
Earley, a psychology major, earns her first Academic All-OAC honor.
She is a member of the throws team for ONU competing in the shot put, weight throw, javelin, and hammer.
Nicole Huber earns her first Academic All-OAC accolade.
The biology major ran the 800-meter this season recording a season best time of 2:26.20.
Carman finished fifth in the long jump at both the OAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships, and was a member of the 4x200-meter relay that finished third during the Indoor Championships.
The graphic design major earns her first Academic All-OAC award.
Ellinger, a pharmacy major, earns her first Academic All-OAC honor.
She was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that won both the OAC Indoor and Outdoor Championship, garnered a fifth place finish in the 4x100 meter relay at the Outdoor Championship and an eight place finish in the 400 dash.
Under sixth year head coach Jason Maus, the Polar Bears finished third at the OAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships
