Senior Gabrielle Metzner posts two second place finishes as the Polar Bears earn third place at the Marv Frye Invitational

The Ohio Northern women's track and field team was led by senior Gabrielle Metzner as they finished third of 13 teams Saturday at the Marv Frye Invitational.
The competition was hosted at Ohio Wesleyan University's George Gauthier outdoor track.
Ohio Northern scored 88 points and improve to 20-3 overall on the season.
Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 150 points, followed by Cedarville in second with 120 points, and Ohio Northern and Fredonia St. (N.Y.) tied for third with 88 points.
Metzner placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.13 seconds. Sophomore Allison Gast placed fourth in the event in 15.59 seconds.
Freshman Emily Richards finished second in the 400-meter dash in 58.20 seconds.
Sophomore Rebecca Carman placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.06 meters.
Freshman Bethany Schneider and junior Julie Amos placed third and fourth in the high jump respectively. Schneider recorded a jump of 1.52 meters, while Amos cleared a height of 1.47 meters.
Junior Michaela Dramis placed fifth in the hammer throw with a pitch of 43.69 meters.
Freshman Kelsey Commager placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.00 meters.
Freshman Kendra Paul finished sixth in the javelin with a distance of 31.07 meters.
The Polar Bears are next in action Saturday, April 11 as they travel to Delaware for the All-Ohio meet.
