Women's Indoor Track & Field finishes third of 10 teams at OAC Championships

BEXLEY — Senior Catie Huber garnerd three first place finishes to lead Ohio Northern women's indoor track & field to a third place finish at the OAC Championships Saturday afternoon at Capital Center on the campus of Capital University.
Northern (45-7 overall) finished in third place with 115 points.
Mount Union won the team title with 191 points, followed by Otterbein in second with 123.50 points and Baldwin Wallace in fourth with 92 points.
Huber was named the most outstanding distance runner of the meet.
Senior Gabrielle Metzner finishes second in the triple jump with a leap of 36-01.25, breaking the ONU school record of 35-7.5 set by Emily LeVan in 2003.
Sophomore Kelsey Commager placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 34-03.00.
Huber completed the 1,000-meter run in 3:01.38 earning a first place finish and All-OAC honors.
Freshman Emily Richards won the 800-meter run in 2:18.89 and earned All-OAC honors.
Huber earns All-OAC honors in the 1-mile winning the event in 5:15.70, junior Rebekah McCutchen placed seventh in 5:24.14.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Metzner, sophomore Michelle Mosler, sophomore Meagan Ellinger, and Richards claim All-OAC honors in the event winning in 4:09.19.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Metzner claimed another second place finish with a time of :09.20, sophomore Allison Gast finished seventh in :09.51.
The 4x200 meter relay team of Gast, junior Kristine Wagner, sophomore Rebecca Carman, and Ellinger finished third in 1:49.06 to earn All-OAC honors.
Ellinger also claimed a fourth place finish in the 400-meter run in 1:02.68, while junior Brittany Lee placed seventh in 1:04.18.
Mosler finished fourth in the 500-meter run in 1:22.82.
In the 60-meter dash, Gast garnered a fourth place finish in :08.14.
Junior Julie Amos garnered an eight place finish in the high jump clearing a height of 5-01.00.
"Really had a really good meet," ONU head coach Jason Maus said. "we had a fantastic second day. Our seniors stepped up huge for us. We had a really good season as a team, i'm very proud of our women."
Ohio Northern in next in action Saturday as they host the Polar Bear last chance meet at the ONU Sports Center.
