Senior Catie Huber sets school record as the Women’s Track and Field team wins the Joe Banks Invitational

ADA – The Ohio Northern women's track team won their first home meet of the season as they hosted the annual Joe Banks Invitational in the Ohio Northern University Field House.
Senior Catie Huber set a new school record for the 1000-meter run. Huber finished the race in 2:59.50, shattering the previous record of 3:01.10.
Sophomore Allison Gast, senior Gabrielle Metzner, sophomore Rebecca Carman, and junior Brittany Lee placed second in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:49.15.
The 4x400 meter relay team earned second place with a time of 4:10.82. Metzner, Lee, as well as sophomores Meagan Ellinger and Michelle Mosler formed the relay team.
Metzner also earned first place in the 60-meter run with a time of 9.17 seconds, as well as a second place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 34-11.25.
Junior Julie Amos and freshman Bethany Schneider tied for fourth place in the high jump. Amos and Schneider each listed jumps of 1.50 meters.
Junior Rebekah McCutchen took third place in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:24.20.
Freshman Kelly Andrews placed first in the weight throw with a toss of 49-09.75. Junior Michaela Dramis finished in fifth place with a throw of 43-07.25.
Freshman Emily Richards took first place in the 800-meter run, finishing the race in 2:20.53.
In the 500-meter run, freshman Margaret Kuhns took second place with a time of 1:31.60.
Sophomores Rebecca Carman and Dianna Johnson-Ward placed first and second in the long jump respectively. Carman's leap was measured at 17-02.00 and Johnson-Ward's at 16-09.25.
The Polar Bears will return to action on February 14 to compete at the All-Ohio Championships at Westerville.
