Kelly Andrews sets a new freshman school record as the Women's Track & Field team opens its season at Findlay

FINDLAY – Kelly Andrews set a freshman school record as the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team opened its 2015 season at the Northwest Ohio Invitational, at Findlay's Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center.

Andrews set the ONU freshman record for the weight throw with a pitch of 14.15 meters, finishing 13th in the event.
ONU finished 1-2-3 in the triple jump, as sophomore Dianna Johnson-Ward jumped 10.17 meters to finish first, sophomore Kelsey Commager jumped 9.76 meters to finish second and junior Paige Waugh was third with a leap of 9.74 meters.
Senior Catie Huber finished second in the 1-mile run in 5:13.70.
Fellow senior Gabrielle Metzner placed third in the 60-meter hurdles in :09.37.
Junior Julie Amos finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.43 meters.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday, January 24, as they travel to Defiance for the Defiance Invitational.
