Women's Indoor Track & Field finishes 7th of 18 teams at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE — Senior Lydia Weaver posted a pair of top-5 finishes to lead the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team to a seventh place finish at the All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein's Rike Center Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (22-7 overall) finished with 40 points.
Weaver was second in the 1-mile run in 5:09.86 and was third in the 3,000-meter run in 10:36.16.
Junior Vicki Moga placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters.
Junior Brooke Larsen was sixth in the 1-mile in 5:23.20 and freshman Kara Sosinski was sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 18:44.88.
Ohio Northern also had a pair of top-5 finishes in relay events.
The distance medley relay team of sophomore Shayla Siefker, freshman Brittany Lee, junior Laura Avino and sophomore Catie Huber was fourth in 13:00.31.
Senior Jordan Buchanan, freshman Kristine Wagner and sophomores Shannon Hageman and Gabrielle Metzner were fifth in the 4x200-meter relay in 1:48.25.
Metzner was also seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in :09.75.
Mount Union won the team title with 110.5 points, Ohio Wesleyan was second with 97 points and Baldwin Wallace was third with 65.5 points.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday at the Meindel Last Call at Capital.
