Mount Union wins second straight OAC Indoor Track & Field Championship

ADA -- No. 18 Mount Union claimed the OAC Indoor Women's Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders were first 214 points, Ohio Northern and Otterbein tied for second with 102 points apiece and Capital was fourth with 84 points.
Mary Mahoney of Mount Union was named Sprinter of the Year, while the Otterbein coaching staff earned Staff of the Year honors.
Ohio Northern jumper Vicki Moga was named Field Athlete of the Year and Distance Runner of the Year went to Capital's Emma McCarron and Ohio Northern's Alison Steinbrunner.
Dana Vadervort of Marietta opened Day 2 with a win in the triple jump, covering 10.77 meters.
Moga brought home the high jump, clearing 1.69 meters and Heidelberg's Mary Beth Boyden won the shot put with a throw of 13.18 meters.
Mount Union captured both the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
McCarron won her second title of the weekend in the 1-mile, posting a time of 5:14.71.
In the 60 hurdles, Rachel McKeever of Otterbein captured the title in 9.25.
Mahoney broke her own OAC record in the 400 run and 60 dash, times of 55.53 seconds and 7.75 seconds.
She also captured the 200 dash in 25.09 seconds.
The 500 run and 800 dash were swept by Mount Union with Courtney Reese winning the 500 run in 1:19.16 and Emily Mazzaferri taking the 800 run in 2:17.36.
The 1,000 run was won by Nicki Bohrer of John Carroll in 3:03.42.
Steinbrunner broke her own record in the 5,000 run, posting a time of 17:39.21.
