Alison Steinbrunner named Second Team Academic All-America by CoSIDA

ADA - Junior Alison Steinbrunner has been named Second Team Academic All-America for Women's Track & Field/Cross Country by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) membership.
The Capital One® Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances academically and athletically. To be nominated for the award program, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 grade point average.
Steinbrunner was eligible for the national ballot after being named First Team All-District 7 earlier this month. It was the second time she earned All-District honors, as she was also named First Team All-District in 2011.
Steinbrunner earned All-American honors three times in the 2011-12 season, starting with a ninth place finish at the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships in November.
She followed up with a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run at the NCAA D-III Indoor Track & Field Championships in March and a third-place finish in the 10,000-meter run at the national outdoor championships in late May.
The junior pharmacy major also set new school records in the 6,000-meter cross country course, the indoor 3,000-meter run, outdoor 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run.
ONU's women's cross country team finished the season as OAC Champions and setting a new single-season record with 133 wins and 28 losses.
The women's track & field team finished fourth at the indoor conference championships and fifth at the outdoor OAC championships.
