Women's Track & Field finish 7th at 2011 OAC Outdoor Championships
ALLIANCE — The women's track & field team brought home two individual champions and six All-OAC honorees at the 2011 OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Mount Union in Alliance.
ONU finished with 68 points for a seventh place finish. Mount Union took the team title with 159 points, followed by Baldwin-Wallace with 147 points. Marietta (105), Otterbein (99) and Capital (92) rounded out the top five team finishes.
Senior Courtney Zupancic (North Ridgeville) took the title in the hammer throw, tossing a distance of 152-4. Junior Mallory Bloom earned the individual title in the 10,000 run Friday evening.
Earning All-Conference nods were juniors Brooke Bohanan (Grove City/Central Crossing) and Kelly Casanova (Copley) and sophomores Vicki Moga (Stow/Monroe Falls) and Lydia Weaver (Chillicothe/Zane Trace).
Weaver took second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:53.15, while Bohanan and Casanova also placed second (11:44.18) and third (11:48.64), respectively in the steeplechase. Moga earned third in the high jump, clearing 5-3.75.
ONU's season continues as the squad travels to the Toledo Tune Up next Friday, May 6.
