Women's Tennis blanks Capital 9-0 in OAC tilt

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept Ohio Athletic Conference foe Capital 9-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

- Ohio Northern swept the doubles courts, dropping only four games in the process, and won all six singles matches in straight sets to post the victory.
- Sophomores Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles
- Junior Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) and sophomore Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.
- Fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) and junior Miranda Wills (Ada) won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
- Bell won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
- Hurst won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

- Landis won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
- Junior Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
- Freshman Molly McLane (Westerville/Big Walnut) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

- ONU is now 35-11 all-time against Capital, including a 12-5 record in Columbus.
- Cruser leads the team with a 18-7 singles mark and a 30-19 overall record.
- Sheldon has a team-best 15-7 doubles record.
- Landis is tied for 10th all-time in ONU history with a 67-21 singles record. She is also 51-16 in doubles and is 118-37 overall.
- Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 30-10 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team, a winning percentage of .750.
