Women's Tennis defeats John Carroll 7-2 at West Campus Courts

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team remained undefeated in Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 7-2 victory over John Carroll on a sunny and windy Saturday afternoon at the West Campus Courts.

Match Highlights
- Northern won two of the three doubles courts and grabbed five of six singles courts to post the victory.
- Sophomore Jenna Bell (Latrobe, Pa.) won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and combined with junior Julianne Sheldon (Ashtabula/Saint John) to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles for ONU.
- Fifth-year senior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) also went 2-0 on the day as she won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and combined with junior Miranda Wills (Ada) to win 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
- Sophomore Jamie Hurst (Granger, Ind./Penn) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and sophomore Abby Cruser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
- Junior Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.

- ONU is now 23-23 all-time against John Carroll and has won five straight in the series against the Blue Streaks.
- Cruser leads the team with a 16-7 singles mark and a 27-18 overall record.
- Sheldon has a team-best 14-6 doubles record.
- Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 29-9 at the helm of the ONU women's tennis team, a winning percentage of .763.
