Curry, Stuber lead Women's Tennis in 9-0 victory at Marietta

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team improved to 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 9-0 victory at Marietta on Saturday at the Beren Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 14-5 overall, while the Pioneers fall to 2-10, 0-4.
Sixth-year senior Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) won 6-1, 6-0 in her first-ever match at No. 1 singles to lead ONU.
The victory is her 25th consecutive singles victory over the past three seasons and is her 86th career singles victory overall.
Freshman Cassie Stuber (Lima/Central Catholic) posted her second career singles victory and her first in the spring season, winning 6-0, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
Curry and Stuber also won their doubles matches, as Curry combined with freshman Miranda Wills (Ada) to win 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and Stuber joined with freshman Victoria Santana (Humacao, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Antonio Abad) to win 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Junior Flo Sanchez (West Chester/Lakota West) and freshman Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Santana won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2, Wills won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, O'Connell won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Sanchez won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday with a non-conference contest against Wittenberg at West Campus Courts.
