This Weekend's Tournament: The Polar Bears will travel south this weekend for three matches in the Transylvania (Ky.) Invitational ... On Saturday, Northern will face Greenville (Ill.) at 9 am and Asbury (Ky.) at Noon ... The Polar Bears will wrap up the tournament with a 9 am match with host Transylvania on Sunday morning ... Ohio Northern women's tennis team began the spring portion of its 2021-22 schedule on Sunday with an 8-1 victory over Saint Francis (Ind.) indoors at Westwood Tennis and Fitness Center ... ONU swept the three doubles matches and won five of the six singles courts to post the victory ... Sophomore Olivia Kesner and junior Regan Landis led Ohio Northern with 2-0 records on the day … Freshman Julianne Sheldon leads the Polar Bears in singles play with an undefeated 10-0 record ...Freshman Katie O'Connell is right behind at 9-1 and Landis and freshman Miranda Wills are each 8-1 ... In doubles play, Wills is 9-1, Landis is 8-2, junior Jorgia Templin is 7-1 and Kesner is 7-3 ... Wills (17-2), Landis (16-3) and Sheldon (14-1) are the team leaders in overall wins ... Asbury is 2-0 on the season with victories over Georgetown (Ky.) and Bethel (Tenn.) ... Greenville is 3-3 this season and is coming off a 9-0 win over Illinois College and an 8-1 win over Illinois Wesleyan to wrap up its fall schedule ... Transylvania is 7-2 after a 6-3 loss to Otterbein on Feb. 11.

Series Records: The series between Ohio Northern and Transylvania is tied at 1-1 ... ONU won in 2012 and TU won in 2020 ... This will be ONU's first meeting with Asbury and Greenville.
Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 21st season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 396-104 (.792) record, including a 147-17 (.896) mark in regular season conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles.
