Sunday's Match: The Polar Bears will begin the spring portion of their 2021-22 schedule on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match against NAIA foe Saint Francis (Ind.) indoors at the Westwood Tennis and Fitness Center in Lima ... Westwood continues to be the indoor home of the Polar Bears since the spring of 2012 ... Ohio Northern went a perfect 6-0 in the fall portion of its schedule, which wrapped up Oct. 2 with victories over Concordia (Mich.) and Muskingum at the West Campus Courts ... Freshman Julianne Sheldon led the Polar Bears in singles play in the fall with an undefeated 9-0 record ...Freshman Katie O'Connell was right behind at 8-1 and junior Regan Landis and freshman Miranda Wills were each 7-1 ... In doubles play, Wills was 8-1, Landis was 7-2 and junior Jorgia templin was 6-1 ... Wills (15-2), Landis (14-3) and Sheldon (13-1) ar the team leaderts in overall wins ... ONU will return to action Feb. 19-20 with three matches at the Transylvania (Ky.) Invite ... The Cougars began their spring schedule on Friday at Indiana-Kokomo ... SFU went 1-10 overall and 1-7 in the Crossroads League during the fall schedule ... They were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the CL Tournament ... Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 21st season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 395-104 (.792) record, including a 147-17 (.896) mark in regular season conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles.
