Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern women's tennis team continues its 2021 fall season with the two-day Oberlin Invitational on Friday and Saturday … Play begins at 12 p.m. on both days … Each team will play two doubles matches and one singles match on Friday and one doubles match and two singles matches on Saturday … Each school is allowed eight singles players and four doubles teams … The event is not being scored … The Polar Bears are coming off season-opening wins over Adrian (Mich.) and Manchester (Ind.) in a tri-match in Adrian last Sunday … ONU defeated Adrian 6-3 and Manchester 9-0 … Freshmen Katie O'Connell, Julianne Sheldon and Miranda Wills each went 3-0 on the day to lead the Polar Bears … O'Connell and Sheldon went 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles, while Wills was 1-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.

Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 21st season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 391-103 (.791) record, including a 147-16 (.902) mark in regular season conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles.
