Dodson, Wills, Landis, Kesner named Scholar Athletes in Women's Tennis for 2020-21 by ITA

ADA — Four members of the Ohio Northern women's tennis team were named Scholar Athletes for 2021 by the International Tennis Association.
Seniors Jordan Dodson (Worthington) and Mackenzie Wills (Ada), sophomore Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) and freshman Olivia Kesner (Lima/Central Catholic) all received the honor.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale.
Dodson was 7-1 in singles play, playing primarily at No. 6 and was also named Honorable Mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference this spring.
In her five seasons at Ohio Northern, she is 40-13 in singles, 13-8 in doubles and 54-21 overall.
Wills was 8-0 in singles play, going 1-0 at No. 4, 4-0 at No. 4 and 3-0 at No. 5. She was also 8-1 in doubles and finished the season with a 16-1 record. She was a Second Team All-OAC honoree in 2020-21.
In five seasons at ONU, Wills is the school's all-time career leader with a 90-18 singles record and a 177-49 overall record. She also ranks second with an 87-31 doubles mark.
Landis was 5-3 in singles play, going 3-1 at No. 2 and 2-2 at No. 3. She was a perfect 9-0 at No. 3 doubles for a 14-3 overall record this season. She was a Second Team All-OAC honoree in 2020-21.
She has career records of 17-5 in singles, 21-4 in doubles and is 38-9 overall.
Kesner was 6-2 in singles play, going 3-2 at No. 2 and 3-0 at No. 3 and was 6-3 at No. 1 doubles for a 12-5 overall record to grab First Team All-OAC kudos in her rookie season at ONU.
The Polar Bears finished the abbreviated 2021 season with an 8-2 record. Ohio Northern finished second in the Ohio regular season standings with a 6-1 mark and reached the semifinals of the OAC Tournament under 20th-year head coach Scott Wills.
