Wednesday's Match Notes: The Ohio Northern women's tennis program continues its 2018-19 Ohio Athletic Conference slate on Wednesday with a league showdown at Otterbein ... With a victory, ONU would clinch a first round bye in next week's 6-team OAC Tournament ... Northern is currently in a first place tie in the OAC with John Carroll with a 6-0 record and is one game ahead of Otterbein (5-1) ... ONU is coming off an 8-1 victory at Capital on April 17 ... Northern took a 3-0 lead after doubles, sweeping the three courts by a combined 24-5 score ... Freshmen Olivia Schrager and Abigail Staskiewicz won 8-2 at No. 1, senior Ashley Ochsenhirt and junior Mackenzie Wills won 8-0 at No. 2 and juniors Kaleigh Cummins and Katie Curry won 8-3 at No. 3 ... In singles play, ONU won five of the six courts to clinch the match ... Ochsenhirt won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1, Schrager won 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 at No. 2, Wills won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4, Staskiewicz won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 and Curry won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6 ... Thus far this season, Wills leads the team with a 46-7 overall record, a 23-3 singles mark, and a 23-4 doubles record ... Her 46 overall wins is the 6th-most in ONU history and is just four wins off the school record 50 wins by Meghan Letizia in 2013 ... Ochsenhirt is second in overall wins at 39-11 and second in doubles wins at 22-4 ... Curry is second on the team with 21 singles wins, is second in doubles victories (16) and is third in overall wins (35) ... Wills (129-40 overall), Ochsenhirt (119-42), and Curry (102-46) have each become members of ONU's 100-Win Club this season ... Wills ranks ninth all-time with 66 career singles wins and is ninth with 129 overall career victories at Ohio Northern ... Otterbein enters Wednesday's match with a 3-match winning streak, which includes 9-0 wins over Capital and Muskingum and a 6-2 win over Wittenberg ... Marriella Briones leads the Cardinals with a 15-5 singles record with Makayla Sutter close behind with a 13-8 record ... Jordan Traxler has a team-best 13 doubles wins.
