Women's Tennis sweeps Mount Union 5-0 in the semifinals of OAC Tournamernt

MIAMISBURG -- The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept Mount Union 5-0 in the semifinals of the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Friday night indoors at the South Regency Tennis Club.
The second-seeded Polar Bears (22-4 overall) advace to the tournament finals against top-seeded John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
The third-seeded Purple Raiders end their season at 12-6 overall.
Ohio Northern advances to the OAC Tournament finals for the 14th time in the 16-year history of the event.
Junior Lynn Kelly (Mason) and sophomore Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) got Ohio Northern off to a 1-0 start with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles,
Seniors Christina Corbean (Dayton/Oakwood) and Brittany Toney (Greenwood, Ind.) won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles to make it 2-0 and freshmen Mackenzie Wills (Ada) and Katherine Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Freshman Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield/Northeastern) won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles to make it 4-0 Ohio Northern.
Ochsenhirt then ended the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.
