Women's Tennis posts pair of 9-0 victories over Marietta and Muskingum at OAC Tennis Fest

MASON -- The Ohio Northern women's tennis team topped Marietta and Muskingum by 9-0 scores at the OAC Tennis Fest at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason on Saturday.
The Polar Bears are now 13-3 on the season and improve to 5-1 in OAC play.
Against Muskingum (1-6, 0-4), Northern dropped just one total game.
Sophomore Christina Corbean and freshman Brittany Toney posted a 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore Rachael Miller and sophomore Taryn Stromback won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Junior Kristin Cellentani and sophomore Meghan Letizia scored a 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Cellentani won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Toney also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Stromback won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, while Corbean, Letizia and Miller all won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
In the match against Marietta (4-12, 1-5), 8-game pro sets were played due to fading light.
The duo's Miller and Stromback and Cellentani and Letizia teamed up for 8-0 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Corbean and Toney won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
In singles play, Letizia won 8-0 at No. 4 singles, with Stomback, Miller and Toney scoring 8-1 victories at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Corbean won 8-2 at the No. 1 singles position and Cellentani was victorious at No. 2 singles by a 8-4 score.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Wednesday, when it travels to take on Baldwin Wallace at 3:30 pm.
