Women's Tennis picks up 9-0 win over Wittenberg

DAYTON -- Sophomore Christina Corbean and freshman Brittany Toney came back from a 7-0 deficit to win at No. 1 doubles, leading the Ohio Northern women's tennis team to a 9-0 sweep of Wittenberg on Wednesday at Dayton Center Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 8-2 on the season, while the Tigers drop to 6-4.
Corbean and Toney won their court 9-8, capturing the tiebreaker 7-1.
Sophomore Rachael Miller and sophomore Taryn Stromback won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and junior Kristin Cellentani and sophomore Meghan Letizia picked up a 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.
In singles play, Stromback won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Corbean and Letizia scored 6-0, 6-1 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
Miller won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Cellentani won at No. 2 singles by a 6-0, 6-4 score.
Toney closed out the sweep with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Saturday, when it hosts Mount Union at 1 pm.
