Women's Tennis falls in spring season opener to Kalamazoo (Mich.) 6-3

KALAMAZOO (Mich.) -- Sophomore Meghan Letizia won twice to lead the Ohio Northern women's tennis team in a 6-3 loss at Kalamazoo (Mich) in its spring opener on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears fall to 1-1 on the season, while the Hornets move to 1-0.
After the Polar Bears dropped the No. 1 doubles court, Letizia teamed with junior Kristin Cellentani to win 8-6.
Sophomore Rachael Miller and sophomore Taryn Stromback also won 8-6 to give ONU a 2-1 edge after doubles.
In singles action, Letizia won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
Stromback lost a tough three set match at No. 2 singles by a 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 score.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Friday, when it travels to take on Saint Mary's (Ind.) at 6 pm.
