ADA — Ohio Northern junior Michelle Tuma was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 8-14.
Tuma went 3-1 at No. 1 singles and was 4-0 at No. 1 doubles, leading the Polar Bears (20-4 overall, 6-0 OAC) to four victories last week.
She also became the ninth player in ONU women's tennis history to win 100 career matches, reaching the milestone with a victory at No. 1 doubles on Saturday in an 8-1 win at Mount Union.
In her career, Tuma is 45-44 in singles, 57-37 in doubles and is 101-81 overall.
This season, Tuma is 16-13 in singles, a team-best 21-10 in doubles and 37-23 overall.
A two-time First Team All-Conference honoree, this marks the first time in her career that she has been named OAC Player of the Week.
It is the third time this season that an ONU player has won the award, as junior Carly Olmstead won it on March 11 and sophomore Brittany Miller was named on March 5.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday at 1 pm at Baldwin Wallace.
