Women's Tennis named an ITA All-Academic Team for 10th time in last 11 years; Four individuals named Scholar Athletes

ADA — Four members of the Ohio Northern women's tennis team were named Scholar Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for 2011-12.
The Polar Bears were also named to the ITA's All-Academic Team for the 10th time in the past 11 years. ONU boasted an impressive team GPA of 3.33 last year.
Senior Kristen Timperman, sophomores Lauren Rife and Kelsi Wurm and freshman Kristin Cellentini all received individual Scholar-Athlete honors.
To be eligible for their Scholar-Athlete awards, those four ladies maintained individual grade points averages of 3.5 or better.
The Polar Bears posted a 23-5 record, won the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2011-12 under 11th-year head coach Scott Wills.
