Women's Tennis improves to 5-0 on Fall season with victories over Defiance, Lake Erie

DEFIANCE — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team improved to 5-0 on the Fall season with victories over Defiance and Lake Erie Thursday at Defiance's Dix Tennis Facility.
The Polar Bears defeated Defiance 9-0 and Lake Erie 8-1.
Defiance falls to 1-7, while Lake Erie drops to 0-7.
Nine different players posted singles victories and ten different Polar Bears had at least one victory overall on the day, led by sophomores Jenny Provost and Samantha Stulen with three wins each.
The pair each posted 6-0, 6-0 singles wins and Stulen combined with senior Kristen Timperman to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles against Lake Erie.
In the first match of the day against the host Yellow Jackets, Northern swept all six singles matches, dropping only five games.
Against the Storm in the second match of the day, Stulen's 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and her 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles with Timperman keyed the victory.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their fall schedule Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the ITA Regional Tournament at Kalamazoo, Mich.
