Women's Tennis opens up spring season with 9-0 win over Trine (Ind.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team won 9-0 against Trine University (Ind.) Wednesday afternoon at University Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-4 overall while the Thunder fall to 3-4.
The freshmen No. 1 doubles pair of Carly Olmstead and Michelle Tuma won their match, 8-5, over Jennifer Wall and Lauren Schlueter .
Freshmen Lauren Rife and Emily Mueller also won No. 2 doubles over Chrissy Uphaus and Samantha Willmann, 8-4.
Sophomore Christie Gales and freshman Kelsi Wurm then picked up a 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles against Susan Breinling and Kaylynne Goeglein.
Tuma won her No. 1 singles match 6-2, 7-5 over Wall, while Mueller won at No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-3 over Schlueter.
Also picking up singles wins were Olmstead, Gales, Wurm and Rife.
The Polar Bears will be back in action Friday at 4 p.m. when they open up conference competition at Muskingum.
