Baldwin-Wallace edges Women's Tennis 6-3

BEREA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team fell at Baldwin-Wallace 6-3 in an Ohio Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon at the Lou Higgins Center.
The Polar Bears are now 6-8 overall and 3-2 in OAC action, while the Yellow Jackets remained undefeated in conference play at 5-0 and are 11-7 overall for the season.
Northern snagged two doubles wins over the Yellow Jackets to take an early 2-1 lead.
At No. 1, Ashley Bonamer and Christie Gales defeated Caitlyn Pecinovksy and Rebecca Mittler 8-6.
The No.2 duo of Mami Ito and Kristen Timperman topped Jenny Greene and Emily Pelosi 8-6, making the ONU pair 4-0 in conference play this year.
Gales picked up ONU's lone singles victory, defeating Jenny Greene 6-0, 6-2 to improve to 3-1 in OAC singles play.
The Polar Bears will be in action again Tuesday as they travel to Otterbein for a 3:30 pm OAC match.
