Women's Tennis blanks Midway (Ky.) 9-0 at Queen City Racquet Club

CINCINNATTI — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team picked up a convincing 9-0 non-conference win Friday afternoon against Midway (Ky.) at the Queen City Racket Club.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-9 overall, while the Eagles fall to 9-10.
ONU's shutout was it's fifth of the season.
Junior Kristen Timperman, senior Mami Ito and freshman Jenna Bittner posted 6-0, 6-0 wins respectively at the No.3, No. 4 and No.5 spots to lead the Polar Bears.
Timperman defeated Patti Skelly, Ito beat Natasha Koerber and Bittner was vicotrious against Jessica Presley.
Northern swept the three doubles matches. The No. 2 duo of Timperman and Ito defeated Natasha Koerber and Patti Skelly 8-1. The No. 3 team of Bittner and Jenny Provost defeated Lottie Boyd and Brittney Lynch 8-1.
The Polar Bears will be in action Saturday at noon against Muskingum at the Westwood Tennis Club in Lima.
Saturday is Senior/Parents Day and ONU will be honoring the team's lone senior Ito in a post-match ceremony and the Faber Lounge in the ONU Sports Center.
