Brown, Fernandez, Richters and Savini named Academic All-District in Women's Swimming and Diving by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Juniors Mara Brown (Fremont/Ross), Morgan Fernandez (Huber Heights/Wayne), Annie Richters (Tory/Miami East) and sophomore Marisa Savini (Troy/Miami East) were named Academic All-District in women's swimming and diving by College Sports Communicators.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Women's Swimming and Diving Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this spring.
Brown, Fernandez and Richters were also named Academic All-District as sophomores last year and are all two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorees.
Brown is a 12-time All-OAC honoree with 240 career OAC Championships points to her credit.
She was part of the OAC champion 400 medley relay team as a freshman in 2022 and has also been All-Conference in the 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 IM, 400 free relay and 200 medley relay in her career.
Brown added All-OAC accolades in 100 fly and 200 medley relay this season.
She was also named the OAC Swimmer of the Week twice this season.
Fernandez has 78 career OAC Championships points and earned All-Conference honors as part of ONU's medley relay team this year.
Richters has scored 99.5 OAC Championships points in her career and earned All-Conference honors as part of ONU's medley relay team this year.
Savini is making her first appearance on the Academic All-District team and is also an Academic All-OAC honoree.
She scored six teams points for ONU at this year's OAC Championships meet.
The Polar Bears finished 6-7 overall in dual meets this season and placed fourth at the 2024 OAC Championships.
