Lubinski, Taylor earn All-OAC for Women’s Swimming & Diving during first day of OAC Championships

AKRON — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team boasted a pair of All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorees Thursday during the first day of the OAC Championships. Sophomore Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) and junior Marrisa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) both finished runner-up in their respective races, helping to position the Polar Bears fourth with 91 points.
Lubinski took second in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 24.56. Taylor touched second in the 200-yard individual medley, recording a time of 2:12.52.
Lubinski and Taylor teamed up to help the Polar Bears place fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Lubinski, senior Kyley Stuart (Ada), Taylor and sophomore Lauren Shaw (Port Clinton) — touched fourth with a time of 1:39.70.
Freshman Abby Schauer (Beavercreek) and senior Katey Stuart (Ada) rounded out the top-10 finishers. Schauer placed ninth in the 200-yard individual medley, registering a time of 2:14.75, while Staurt took 10th in a time of 2:17.85.
The meet will continue Friday at 10 a.m. inside the Ocasek Natatorium with eight more events — the 200-yard medley relay, the 400-yard individual medley, the 100-yard butterfly, the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke, the 100-yard backstroke, the 1- and 3-meter diving and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
