ADA — Freshman swimmer Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) has been awarded OAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career, the conference office announced Monday afternoon with the release of their weekly award listing.
The Milford native captured four event titles Saturday afternoon at Hammond Natatorium in Alliance, propelling the Polar Bears to a tight-knit, 149-142 victory over Mount Union. Lubinski registered three individual event crowns in the 50 free (25.72), 100 free (56.67), and 200 free (2:03.54) events while also joining senior Kierra Watson and juniors Katey Stuart and Kyley Stuart to claim the 200 medley relay in 1:54.84.
One day prior, Lubinski was among Ohio Northern's top finishers in a dual meet against No. 2-ranked Kenyon, securing a top-three finish in the 100-yard free event with 56.45 touch.
With the selection, Lubinski receives her first career conference accolade.
The Polar Bears (3-2 overall, 2-1 OAC) will return home this Friday evening when they host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Baldwin Wallace for the annual Golden Kickboard Meet. Events are slated to begin at 7 p.m. inside the ONU Sports Center Natatorium in Ada.
