Sartschev sweeps diving events, propels Women's Swimming and Diving past Wittenberg 135-88

ADA - Junior diver Libby Sartschev (Parma/Normandy) claimed both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving program to a 135-88 victory over Wittenberg Friday evening at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
With the win, the Polar Bears improve to 2-1 overall while the Tigers drop to 0-4 on the season.
In addition to Sartchev's diving dominance, ONU saw five individuals and a relay team earn victories in the swimming portion of the evening.
The 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Lauren Givins (Navarre/Perry), junior Katey Stuart (Ada), freshman Mya Parsons (Castle Rock, Colo.), and freshman Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) opened the meet with a 1:58.63 clocking, good for first place.
After being a part of the truimphant relay team, Lubinski touched first for a second time Friday evening, winning the 100 free in 56.42.
Sophomore Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) took the 200 free in 2:03.68 while senior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) captured the 200 IM in 2:17.36 to extend the Northern lead.
Sophomore Kaity Kelly (Fremont/Ross) edged Wittenberg's Morgan Siefert by .32 seconds in the 200 back, taking first place in 2:27.15.
Rounding out the Polar Bear victories, junior Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) led an ONU sweep of the top-three places in the 200 breast as she was victorious with a 2:35.53 clocking.
Ohio Northern will take to the pool again November 29-December 1 at the Wooster Invitational. The swimming will be held at Wooster High School and the diving is slated to take place at the College of Wooster.
