Women's Swimming & Diving celebrates Senior Day with 176-113 win over Oberlin

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day with a 176-113 victory over Oberlin on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
The Polar Bears improve to 5-1 overall, while the Yeowomen fall to 1-6.
ONU won 9 of the 16 events but used superior depth to post the 63-point victory.
Junior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind. and freshman Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) led Ohio Northern with three victories on the day.
Watson won the 100 back in 1:03.65 and the 200 back in 2:17.15 and Taylor won the 200 fly in 2:19.76 and the 200 breast in 2:41.02.
Watson and Taylor started the meet by combining with, senior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) and sophomore Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) to win the 400 medley relay in 4:18.87.
Halle also won the 100 breast in 1:12.00 and Veon won the 50 free in :25.04.
Sophomore Libby Sartschev (Parma/Normandy) won the 3-meter diving with 163.75 points for six dives and freshman Claire Kaiding (Waterford, Mich./Brandon) won the 1-meter diving with 174.45 points for six dives.
"We were able to mix the lineup a little bit this weekend which helped keep us fresh and give us a look at some different lineups," said head coach Peggy Ewald. "We have one more solid week of work to get done and then some time to rest and prepare for the OAC Championships."
The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday with a tri-meet at No. 1-ranked Kenyon with Ohio Wesleyan.
