Women's Swimming & Diving opens 2017-18 campaign at Kenyon Relays and Denison Diving Meet

ADA — For the fifth consecutive season, the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team kicked off its season as it competed at the Kenyon Relays and Denison Diving Meet.
The Polar Bears finished fifth of eight teams with 40 points.
In the 200-yard mixed medley relay, the team of senior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) and freshman Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) joined forces with two ONU men swimmers to post a third place finish in the event in 1:45.95.
In the 200 breaststroke relay, the team of Veon, junior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) and sophomores Katelyn Koebel (Port Clinton) and Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) posted a fifth place finish in 2:12.23.
Freshman Claire Kaiding (Waterford, Mich./Brandon) led the way for ONU in the diving events, finishing sixth overall in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with 159.00 and 108.10 points, respectively.
The Polar Bears return to the pool on Nov. 3-4 as they travel to Calvin (Mich.) to compete in the annual Calvin (Mich.) Invitational.
