Women's Swimming & Diving sits in 7th place after Day 1 of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER - Freshman Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) placed 9th in the 200 I.M. to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team on the first day of the three-day Wooster Invitational.
The Polar Bears are sitting in 7th place of 10 teams after Day 1 of the three-day meet with 166 points. Case Western Reserve is in 1st place after five events with 503 points. ONU trails 6th place Mount Union by just 22 points.
Halle completed the 200 I.M. in 2:12.71 to earn her 9th place finish while sophomore Kierra Watson (Browsnburg, Ind./Brownsburg) placed 14th in 2:17.23.
The 200 free relay team of senior Stephanie Brookens (Louisville), junior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Brookfield), junior Hailee Sautter (Mansfield/Lexington) and senior Molly Wheeler (Sylvania/Northview) earned 8th place in 1:41.38. Veon also placed 17th in the 50 freestyle in :25.01.
Watson, Veon, Halle and Brookens placed 10th in the 400 medley relay in 4:08.42.
Northern returned to the pool today at 11 am for Day 2 of the Wooster Invitational.
