Women's Swimming & Diving opener 2015-16 season with fifth place finish at Kenyon Relays

GAMBIER — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team opened its 2015-16 campaign with a fifth place finish at the Kenyon Relays on Saturday at the Steen Aquatic Center.
The meet also included diving competition at the Denison Diving Meet.
The Polar Bears were fifth of eight teams with 36 points. Denison won the team title with 120 points, Kenyon was second with 114 points and Wooster was third with 66 points.
Sophomore Sydney Veon, junior Stacie Melody, junior Jill Chapman and freshman Lauren Chaney led Ohio Northern with a fourth place finish in the 200 breast relay in 2:12.56.
Senior Allison Lohnes, Veon, Chaney and Chapman finished fifth in the 200 medley relay in 1:51.95.
In the 200 back relay, freshmen Alyson Rohrer, Kierra Watson and Julia Heenan and Lohnes finished sixth in 1:56.25.
Junior Emily Uhrin, Veon, Lohnes, and Chapman were seventh in the 200 free relay in 1:42.71.
Watson, Lohnes, Chaney and Chapman were eighth in the 400 I.M. relay in 4:24.69.
The 200 mixed medley relay team of Lohnes, Trevor Keriazes, Pete He and Chapman was third in 1:43.75.
The Polar Bears will open the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their schedule Oct. 30 at Wilmington.
