CLEVELAND - The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team fell to Case Western Reserve 214-75 Saturday afternoon at the Veale Natatorium.
The Polar Bears fall to 3-8 overall, while the Spartans improve to 4-4.
"Case is a competitive team that always puts us to the test," said head coach Peggy Ewald.
Sophomore Stephanie Brookens led the Polar Bears in the meet.
Brookens had a second place finish in the 200 free in 2:03.66, as well as in the 100 free in :57.21.
Shealso teamed up with junior Lindsey Inkrott, freshman Sydney Veon, and senior Ashley Zoeller for a second place finish in the 200 medley in 1:55.65.
Zoeller took second in the 1,000 free in 11:25.19, and third in the 500 free in 5:35.46.
Veon led the Polar Bears in the 100 breaststroke as she placed third in 1:11.73.
Inkrott had a third place finish in the 100 back in 1:04.46.
"We've embraced a few unexpected challenges the past 8 days," said Ewald. "During the week we had up to 13 athletes out sick, but going into our last dual meet with that many sick required us to stand tall and get the job done by doing the best we could with what we had to work with."
The Polar Bears will return to the pool February 19th, as they compete in the first day of the OAC Championships at Akron University.
