Allison Lohnes wins 100 back to lead Women's Swimming & Diving at Calvin (Mich.) Quad Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Junior Allison Lohnes won the 100 back to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team in a quad meet at Calvin (Mich.) with Albion (Mich.) and Carthage (Wis.) on Friday and Saturday at the Venema Aquatic Center.
The Polar Bears finished fourth with 671.5 points. Calvin won the meet with 1,084 points, Carthage (Wis.) was second with 860 points and Albion (Mich.) was third with 731.5 points.
Lohnes led ONU with three top-5 finishes on the weekend.
She won the 100 back in 1:01.40, was second in the 200 free in :55.09 and was fourth in the 50 free in :25.42.
Senior Ashley Zoeller, junior Lindsey Inkrott and sophomore Jill Chapman each had a pair of top-5 finishes.
Zoeller was third in the 100 fly in 1:05.21 and was fourth in the 500 free in 5:30.05.
Inkrott was third in the 200 back in 2:17.01 and was fourth in the 100 back in 1:03.37.
Chapman was third in the 50 free in :25.19 and was fourth in the 200 I.M. in 2:18.75.
Freshman Sydney Veon placed second in the 100 breast in 1:11.52 and sophomore Brianna Tingley was fifth in the 200 fly in 2:33.44.
Inkrott, Veon, Lohnes and Chapman won the 200 medley relay in 1:51.74.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday when they host Baldwin Wallace in a 1 pm dual meet at the ONU Sports Center.
Also that day ONU will celebrate Senior Day, will hold their annual Swim for Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser and will battle the Yellow Jackets for the Golden Kickboard trophy.
