Jill Chapman leads Women's Swimming & Diving on Day 1 of Calvin (Mich.) Quad Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team is in third place after the first day of a quad meet at Calvin (Mich.) with Albion (Mich.) and Carthage (Wis.) on Friday night at the Venema Aquatic Center.
Sophomore Jill Chapman led the Polar Bears in the first session, placing in the top four in three of the five events.
She was third in the 50 free in :25.19, was fourth in the 200 I.M. and anchored the 200 free relay team with freshman Sydney Veon, sophomore Emily Uhrin and junior Allison Lohnes to a second place finish in 1:41.69.
Lohnes and senior Ashley Zoeller also posted fourth place finishes on the evening.
Lohnes was fourth in the 50 free in :25.42 and Zoeller was fourth in the 500 free in 5:30.05.
The 400 medley relay team of Inkrott, Veon, Lohnes and Uhrin were second in 4:12.79.
The Polar Bears are third of four teams with 216.5 points after five of 20 events.
Calvin is first with 357 points, Carthage (Wis.) is second with 263 points and Albion (Mich.) is fourth with 195.5 points.
The second session will get underway on Saturday at 10 am and the third and final session will start Saturday at 4 pm.
