Sophomore Jill Chapman breaks 27-year old school record in the 100 Free to lead Women's Swimming & Diving on final day of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER — Sophomore Jill Chapman broke a 27-year old school record in the 100 free to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team on the third and final day of the Wooster Invitational on Saturday at the Wooster High School Natatorium.

The Polar Bears finished seventh of 10 teams with 832.5 points in the 20 events.

NCAA Division II foe Gannon (Pa.) won the team title with 1489.5 points, Wooster was second with 1111.5 points and Case Western Reserve was third with 1052 points.

Chapman finished third in the 100 free in a school record :52.27, breaking the previous record of :52.40 set by All-American Nancy Emerick in 1988.

Chapman set the 50 free school record on Thursday.

Junior Allison Lohnes also posted a third place finish in the 200 back, touching in 2:07.53.

Junior Lindsey Inkrott was 10th in the event in 2:10.90.

The 400 free relay team of Inkrott, sophomore Emily Uhrin, Lohnes and Chapman finished third in 3:35.20.

The Polar Bears will return to action Jan. 3 at the Citrus Classic at Mesa, Ariz.
