Women's Swimming & Diving wins 11 of 12 events to defeat Wilmington 162-51

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team captured an impressive 11 of the 12 events to post a 162-51 victory over Wilmington Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-1 overall and are 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Quakers fall to 0-2, 0-2.
ONU won nine of the 10 individual events and swept the two relays to post the win.
Senior Ashley Zoeller won three events to lead the Polar Bears.
She won the 200 free in 2:04.09, the 100 free in :56.95 and was part of Northern's winning 200 free relay team.
Junior Allison Lohnes won the 50 free in :25.71.
Sophomores Brianna Tingley, Jill Chapman and Jennifer Collopy also won events.
Tingley won the 1000 free in 11:43.07, Chapman won the 100 back in 1:03.18 and Collopy won the 1-meter diving unopposed with 129.60 points.
Three freshman got into the winning act as well.
Kasey Mucher won the 200 I.M. in 2:21.95, Hailee Sautter won the 500 free in 5:46.52 and Sydney Veon won the 100 breast in 1:08.27.
Northern opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay, as junior Lindsey Inkrott, Veon, Lohnes and Chapman touched in 1:50.40.
ONU wrapped up the evening winning the 300 free relay as Zoeller, sophomore Emily Uhrin, junior Abigail Barlage and sophomore Molly Wheeler won in 1:44.66
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday morning at 10:30 am at Kenyon.
