Allison Lohnes leads Women's Swimming & Diving in OAC dual meet at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Junior Allison Lohnes led the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team Saturday afternoon in a153-109 dual meet loss at John Carrol at the Johnson Natatorium.
The Polar Bears fall to 0-1 overall and are 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks improve to 1-0, 1-0.
Lohnes won both the 100 and 200-yard back, leading ONU to 1-2-3 finishes in both events.
She won the 100 yard back in 1:01.15, junior Lindsey Inkrott placed second in 1:04.65, and sophomore Kelsey Brebberman placed third in 1:07.22.
In the 200 yard back, Lohnes was first in 2:15.86, freshman Kasey Mucher was second in 2:20.96, and Inkrott was third in 2:22.32.
She also combined with sophomore Emily Uhrin, sophomore Jill Chapman, and senior Ashley Zoeller to win the 400 yard freestyle relay in 3:46.18.
"The women will be challenged during the dual meet season, we just have to keep mixing up the lineup more to find more opportunities within the team," ONU head coach Peggy Ewald said. "There are many things we can take away from this meet and apply to improve as we get deeper into the season. Reality checks are needed. It was a well earned win for JCU."
Chapman also won the 50 yard free in :25.03.
The Polar Bears are next in action Friday as they host Wilmington in a 5:30 pm dual meet at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium.
