Elmer sets school record in 3-Meter Diving as Women's Swimming & Diving tops Wilmington

ADA--Senior Amy Elmer broke the school record in 3-meter diving as the Ohio Northern Women's Swimming & Diving team topped Wilmington by a score of 170-57 Friday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-1 on the season and 1-1 in OAC play, while the Quakers fall to 2-1, 2-1.
Elmer posted a six dive score of 260.35 in the 3-meter, breaking the previous record of 250.30 held by Deantha Budde in 1988.
She also won the first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 221.70
In the 200 yard freestyle, sophomore Ashley Zoeller won the event with a time of 2:04.90, while senior Mackenzie Hoffman took home first place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.68 seconds.
In the 200 yard IM, junior Lindsey Rayhill came out on top with a time of 2:19.51.
Rayhill also finished in first place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.01.
Junior Jennifer Hartsel grabbed the first place position in the 100 yard freestyle in 58.02 seconds.
In the 100 yard backstroke freshman Lindsey Inkrott took first place with a time of 1:02.27.
Winning the 500 yard freestyle was sophomore Taylor McCabe in 5:37.33.
In the relay events the team of Inkrott, Hartsel, Rayhill, and Hoffman took first place in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:13.45, while in the 400 yard freestyle relay the team of Zoeller, Inkrott, Hoffman and junior Rachel Aufdenkampe posted a first place time of 3:50.62.
"It was nice to have a full squad back tonight," said head coach Peggy Ewald. "The freshman rose to the ocassion, which was great to see. We also saw some areas in which we need to focus."
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Friday when they travel to Hillsdale (Mich.) for a tri-meet with Hillsdale and Olivet (Mich.).
