Women's Swimming & Diving gets first win in nine seasons over Wooster, 153-141
ADA —The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team picked up a 153-141 win over Wooster on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The narrow win marks the first time in nine years that the Polar Bears have won against the Fighting Scots.
Northern moves to 3-0 overall, while Wooster moves to 0-2 on the season.
ONU's win was notably aided by junior Amy Elmer and sophomores Lizzy Aiello and Adriana Jones' diving scores.
Elmer scored a 232.9 for first place in the three-meter, while Aiello and Jones followed up with 190.55 and 173.5, respectively.
The three took the same spots in the one-meter dive, with Elmer scoring 240.15, followed by Aiello's 172 and Jones' 163.1.
Other first-place finishes of note included freshman Taylor McCabe's two top finishes in the 200 Breast (2:29.39) and 400 I.M. (4:47.03).
Senior Michelle Eggers won the 1000 Free in 11:13.28, and sophomore Kasey Manko took first in the 100 Breast in 1:09.72.
The 200 Medley Relay consisting of Manko, senior Alison Garbash and sophomores Rachael Aufdenkampe and Cait Munro won in 1:53.43.
Northern is in action again Friday when it travels to Hillsdale, Mich. , to take on Hillsdale and Olivet. The tri-meet is set to begin at 6 p.m.
