Women's Soccer scores 4-1 win at Mount Union to open Ohio Athletic Conference play

ALLIANCE — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team scored two goals in the first eight minutes of play en route to a 4-1 win at Mount Union on Saturday night to open Ohio Athletic Conference play.

- The Polar Bears got on the scoreboard quickly, as a free kick from junior Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville) served as an assist to junior Alyssa Beckett (Monroe), who found the back of the net.
- ONU made it a 2-0 lead courtesy of a goal from junior Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) in the eighth minute.
- Northern entered halftime up 3-0 thanks to a goal from sophomore Rileigh Glassburn (Delaware/Olentangy Berlin), assisted by Pierce, in the 27th minute.
- The Purple Raiders got on the scoreboard in the 52nd minute with a goal from Brianna Rapp.
- Sophomore Haley Cannon (Oregon/Clay) capped the scoring in the 69th minute with a goal assisted by junior Chandler Clark (Lima/Bath).
- Beckett, Cannon and junior Julia Flanagan (Dublin/Watterson) led the Polar Bears with three shots each.
- Freshman Morgan Moeller (Harrison/Roger Bacon) played 74 minutes in goal for ONU and recorded two saves. Freshman Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) played the remaining 16 minutes in what marked her first collegiate game action.
- ONU finished with a 21-5 advantage in shots and 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

- ONU is now 27-10-2 all time against Mount Union and has won six straight meetings.
