GRANVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team earned its fourth win of the season Wednesday, scoring a 3-0 victory over Denison at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
The Polar Bears (4-1-2 overall) kept the Big Red winless on the season at 0-6-1.
Sophomores Alyssa Beckett (Monroe) and Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) and junior Kylie Brown (Jamestown, N.Y./Southwestern Central) each scored a goal for ONU.
Beckett scored the game's first goal, heading the ball into the back of the net in the 33rd minute off an assist from sophomore Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville).
That marked Beckett's team-high fourth goal of the season.
The Polar Bears took that 1-0 lead into halftime and added to it with Brown's goal on an assist from Bowman in the 52nd minute, giving the latter a team-best four assists on the season.
Pierce capped the scoring, finding the back of the net with 23 minutes remaining on an assist from junior Bri Straus (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern).
Senior Becky Moss (Lebanon/Mount Notre Dame) recorded two saves in goal for ONU as she posted her fourth shutout of the season.
The Polar Bears finished with a 19-10 advantage in shots, and both teams had three corner kicks in the contest.
Northern returns to the field on Saturday when they host DePauw (Ind.) at 2 p.m.
