WESTERVILLE —Otterbein scored with 6:27 left in the match to post a 1-0 victory over Ohio Northern in the finals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament on Sunday at Memorial Stadium.
The Polar Bears finish their season with an 8-1-2 record, while the Cardinals end at 10-0-1.
The goal was the first and only goal allowed all season by Ohio Northern and ends the school record scoreless minutes streak by junior keeper Kristy Catrine (Springboro) at 1,007 minutes this season and 1,010 minutes in her career.
The team's scoreless streak reached 1,025:06, which is also a school record.
OU only had two shots on goal, as ONU held a 12-11 advantage in overall shots and a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Seniors Siena Ward (Newport Beach, Cal./Newport Harbor), Abigail Mathews (Liberty Township/Lakota East) and Sydney Leshnak (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) joined Catrine on the All-Tournament Team.
