ADA — Senior Hannah Reich (Howell, Mich.) was tabbed a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches for her efforts in the classroom and on the field this season.
Reich is now a United Soccer First Team All-American and a First Team Scholar All-American for the 2017 campaign.
The senior is one of ten athletes to earn both First Team Scholar All-American status and First Team All-America honors this season.
Reich, a four-year starter as a defender, started in 79 of 80 career games, while appearing in all 80 games. She collected her first All-Great Lakes Region accolade for her career this season after being dubbed a First Team All-Great Lakes Region member.
The senior is a 4-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and a two-time First Team-All OAC selection. She was also named the OAC Defender of the Year for her efforts this season.
Reich was a key asset to a Polar Bear defense that set a school record with 14 shutouts this season, breaking a 20-year old mark from 1997. Northern also tied the school record for consecutive shutouts with seven straight shutouts during the regular season.
